First held in 1946, The Oak Ridge Horse Show (ORHS) started as a fundraiser to assist in the building of the Oak Ridge Methodist Church. Eventually, it also helped to fund the building of the gym at Oak Ridge Elementary School. After the completion of these projects, donations, and scholarships were made to many non-profit organizations and aspiring students.
The Oak Ridge Horse Show has always been supported through volunteers and donations. With incredibly generous help from the residents and businesses of the Northwest Guilford area, the show had a 68-year run before taking a break. We are now hoping to bring the ORHS back with that same charitable support.
The Oak Ridge Horse Show Association (ORHSA) is pleased to announce the show events will include an Open Horse Show with Western Pleasure, Ranch, English, a Draft Horse Pull, a Mini-Draft Horse Pull, and many more. We are also pleased to have Double Creek Pro Rodeo Company sanctioned with the Southern Rodeo Association for our rodeo portion of the show! The equestrian portion of the show will be handled by Equine Event Planning, LLC, managers of some of the largest open shows in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.
