First held in 1946, The Oak Ridge Horse Show (ORHS) started as a fundraiser to assist in the building of the Oak Ridge Methodist Church. Eventually, it also helped to fund the building of the gym at Oak Ridge Elementary School. After the completion of these projects, donations, and scholarships were made to many non-profit organizations and aspiring students.
The Oak Ridge Horse Show has long been supported by the generosity of volunteers and donors. Thanks to the incredible support of residents and businesses throughout the Northwest Guilford area, the show enjoyed a successful 68-year run before taking a brief hiatus. We are now excited to bring ORHS back with the same spirit of community and charitable support.
ORHSA is thrilled to bring back an action-packed event featuring an Open Horse Show with Western Pleasure, Ranch, and English classes, along with a Draft Horse Pull, Mini-Draft Horse Pull, and much more. We are proud to partner with Double Creek Pro Rodeo Company, sanctioned by the Southern Rodeo Association, for an exciting rodeo experience. The equine portion of the show will be expertly managed by Equine Event Planning, LLC, producers of premier open horse shows throughout NC, SC, and VA.
